My name is Jake Stern. I’m proud to be a native Baltimorean. I’ve lived and worked in Baltimore for almost twenty years and spent some time working in the affordable housing industry on Baltimore’s east side. This experience has given me insight not only into the people of this City but also into the workings of City Government. While this experience was valuable it also pointed out several shortcomings in the City’s structure (I use structure in the broadest sense of the word). My hope is that this blog can inspire Baltimore to Bmore Urban (I use urban in the most positive sense of the word) and to generally be more accessible, more responsive, cleaner, healthier and safer. Finally, please note that some of my posts are intended to be contentious- as such please feel free to comment on them.
